What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a procedure in which an acid solution is applied to the skin. The chemicals break down and remove any top layers of dead skin cells, revealing newer, brighter ones beneath. Medium-depth chemical peels eliminate deeper layers of damaged tissue and stimulate new cell regeneration to smooth the skin and give you an instant “lift!” Chemical peels are used to treat various skin conditions, from wrinkles and fine lines to hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.

DESSNA’s certified aestheticians perform chemical peels right in our office. The process will cause slight burning or stinging that should subside within 2 minutes after application.
- Procedure times vary depending on the type of treatment.
- Skin will peel and scale following the procedure. This usually lasts around three to seven days.
- Recovery time is minimal.
